10 Junk Food Facts

It's always nice to know a little bit about what you're eating. Here is a list of 10 facts about junk food. Now when your friend pops the top off a can of Pringles you can say "Hey, did you know..."
* Just in case you have problems with the link. When you click on the link it takes you to a very small looking image. You can click on the image to zoom in, or use your browser's zoom function.

Mario gets a Portal Gun

I'll be perfectly honest; the reason I didn't blog yesterday is that I was using my allotted surfing/blogging time playing Portal 2. I've said it way too many times how much I would love to have a portal gun. Look at what Mario has done with it.

Little Chef

You could say that kids would make bad cooks, but I fit in this as well. This is why my wife doesn't let me in the kitchen (ask sometime and I can tell you some stories).

Do Nothing for 2 Minutes

It's no secret that I can't really sit still. My mind is always racing, thinking of something silly; most the time, something completely related to anything useful. I came across this link that claims to help you do nothing for 2 minutes. I honestly tried it and got really frustrated after about 6 seconds.... I started thinking of all the things I could be doing. It may work for some of you, and it's an interesting concept.

Audi A7 Papercraft

I've been known to get into some papercraft projects in the past, but some are way too hardcore for me. Here is one such Audi A7 Papercraft. To be honest I've never really seen such a hardcore papercraft. With the amount of time and toner this guy spent, he may have been able to buy a real Audi.

Scenes with Easter Eggs

As most of you know, yesterday was Easter (either the celebration of Jesus rising, or egg hunting). Many of you may have gotten your egg hunting on, if so, here are some you may not have found. Here are some great recreations of popular movie scenes with Easter eggs.

Terminator at The Last Supper

It may be wrong (I hope it's not), but when I hear The Last Supper Story, I will occasionally think of this clip. I've embedded it at 3:16, hopefully it'll work, if not, fast forward to then. It's an old Mad TV clip, but I think it says a lot of what Jesus had on his mind that night even though they may have meant it in jest.

Beat Boxing Cellist

You gotta love it when someone takes an instrument and completely revolutionizes it by their style. Here is such an example.

Give Judas a Break?

When thinking of the worst sinners of all times, the name "Judas" will come to mind (not many people name their kids that anymore). Even Dante reserved the deepest depths of hell for him in his Inferno book. Here is an article from CNN that takes an interesting stance on Judas. The guy makes a good point; Judas was trusted by Jesus. Maybe in the end we should be a little less harsh on Judas. An interesting article for this Maundy Thursday (the night in which Jesus was betrayed).

Toddler's Got Game

It's probably not too late for the 76er's to draft this kid to finish up the playoffs. If this video isn't somehow enhanced (if it's on the Internet, it's probably true rule has been invoked), and he keeps it up, this kid will someday be famous.

Skynet to Become Self Aware

If you recall from the Terminator movies, today is the big day. It's the day when Skynet (their computer system) becomes self aware and launches a Nuclear attack. It actually occurs in about an hour. If you still don't know what I'm talking about, here's a good article with videos showing what to expect. Granted, if the robots aren't invading soon, I'll be back.

Great Milk Trick

Another great party trick to show your buddies next time your party gets really boring. It's able to be done with common household items.

Chicks With Steve Buscemi Eyes

Another great, single purpose website, it's "Chicks with Steve Buscemi Eyes". Guaranteed to make just about any girl look plain out odd. He's a great actor, I love his movies, but his eyes are just a little bit funky. The idea of the site, take a girl, photoshop in Steve's eyes, and enjoy your masterpiece.

China Bans Time Travel

One of the top complaints I hear about Sci-Fi shows is they use time travel too much as a way to change up the plot. Personally, I love it, but I understand why people wouldn't like it. Apparently China is part of the crowd of people who do not, because time travel on TV is now banned in China. Unfortunately, now many of my favorite TV shows (and movies) can not be showed there.

"Fly" Fishing

As a kid I really enjoyed fishing, it seemed like a great idea. I haven't been in years, but the last few times I went, it wasn't too much fun. A lot of sitting and waiting. I'm not too sure if the fishing in this video would be better, or not, but you sure would catch a lot more.

Kid has Moves in the Apple Store

Kids like this should be getting all the girls, unfortunately, he gets all the weird looks. Now that he's made it to my blog, he's forever an Internet superstar... rock on, dude!

Saving the Triceratops

I just learned that the triceratops that we know and love could go the way of Pluto (almost). Here is an article talking about how sometimes Science changes and how the Triceratops may be different than we thought. As you read the article you'll find out that the triceratops isn't in any real danger of being declassified, it just gets less cool as it gets older (kind of like us). Also, just in case you're curious like I was, here is a link to the wikipedia page of the less awesome torosaurus.

Quick Raptor Attack Quiz

Most people, myself included, just aren't ready for a raptor attack. Who knows what we would do if presented face-to-face with a velociraptor. Here is a quick quiz to determine your readiness for a raptor attack. Now you can consider yourself trained. We're only a few technological break-throughs and a mad scientists away from a real life Jurassic Park.

Cute Roulette

If you have one of those days where you feel like nothing has gone right and you want to kick back and look at cute stuff, Cute Roulette is the site for you. You won't know what the next item will be, but you can bet it'll make you say "awww".

Forest Sized Xylophone

Maybe it's just me, but commercial's seem to be getting better. It could be that the good commercials are the ones that go viral, or that commercials are being made better to go viral. Either way, this cellphone commercial with a forest-sized xylophone is pretty impressive.

Sexy Sax Man Video

I've seen this video going around online over the past few weeks and it really cracks me up. Thought it was worth sharing. Now, try getting that song out of your head.

3eanuts

If you enjoyed the comic strip "Garfield minus Garfield", you'll probably also enjoy this much simpler edit of Peanuts called 3eanuts. The concept is, they remove the 4th panel of the Peanuts cartoon that contains the joke, leaving you with a much more depressing comic. It goes from clever and comical, to awkward and depressing.

Accurate Description of College

Attending college can be seen as a major stepping stone in one's career path. I'm an advocate of higher education and the experiences and revelations it brings to one's life, but often times it can be a waste of time. Don't get me wrong, I feel like it is something most people should do, but it's a "means to an end" (so they would say). With that poor intro, here is a great satirical summary of college.
Note: if you're a high school student reading this, go to college, you'll be glad that you did (if for anything else, the experience is great).

Eagle Cam

It appears that some baby eagles have taken the Internet by storm. Here is a webcam setup to film a bald eagle and her chicks (this is actually an NPR article about it, but it has a link to the stream). Although most the time they just kinda of hang out and do nothing, it's fairly intriguing to watch. After watching it for a while, I feel kind of bad for the mother, she just kind of sits there on the babies all day and tries to keep them from fighting. As of now, there is still an egg yet to hatch, so you could tune in and watch a hatching if you're lucky enough. Also, in a bout a week or so, these links probably won't be relevant, so enjoy while they last.
*awesomeness warning- keep in mind, these are bird of prey so no telling what you may see, you may want to bring up the stream and make sure they're not eating a dead bunny before, you say "Hey kids, come look at the cute birdy"

Cow Survival Guide

You don't really think about it too much, but cows can be some dangerous animals. Here is a Popular Mechanics article about how to survive cow encounters. Think it's silly?? According to the article, there are 27 times more deaths by cows in the US than sharks, and if you saw a shark, chances are you would get away quickly. Why are sharks more scary? They sneak up on you and rip your appendages off, where as a cow moves slowly, goes moo, and bashes in your chest. Cows... udderly frightening.

Jim Henson's Wilken's Coffee Commercials

This is some really violent stuff from Jim Henson's early days. I say this as I take a sip of my delicious Wilken's coffee.

4 Mario games beat in 10 minutes

Here's a video for someone with an attention span like mine. It's 4 Mario games being beat in 10 minutes(ish). Just the noise going on in the background is worth it, even if you don't watch the whole thing (which you shouldn't)

Epic Unboxing Video

Who doesn't like these great unboxing videos? Turns out, everyone. This is a great example of all the annoying things we see in unboxing videos.

CNN Article on Lent

If I mention something about Lent to someone, their usual response is "You aren't Catholic". I'm not, I'm actually Presbyterian, and Lent isn't something that is required by our denomination, but I think it's a great idea. In fact, the practice of fasting is something that is mentioned in the Bible as a "when" (Matthew 6:16) not an "if". CNN had an article yesterday morning that my wife sent me that was a really good explanation of why it is a good practice to practice Lent. I found that this was a really great, and interesting read.
